Was a Classical Dancer from 5 years of age to 15 years of age. Later entered television industry and has acted over 50 plus television serials in the lead roles – 2000 – 2012 Completed Masters in Commerce. Worked in Multiple Domains like HR Recruitment, Graphics designing. Finally Found her calling in Early Childhood Education and started career in education as an Educationist and Entrepreneur. She started a successful stand alone preschool and Teacher Training Academy. She has trained 1500+ Teachers and given placements in various reputed schools.

Poornima Prabhakar started off her career as an Educationist with immense conviction, determination and handful of revolutionary ideas about education that she was completely convince of and she set out to make some significant changes in the way “pre primary” education was perceived by the people. Her hard work paid off and today is the Founder/Director of “Gigglezz Preschool”.

She also spearheads the Gigglezz Teachers Training Institute, that conducts a one year program in Early Childhood Education and a certificate program in Learning Disabilities In Children. The Institute empowers students to look at teaching in a distinctive way. Poornima Prabhakar strongly believes that through Gigglezz Teachers Training Women Empowerment can be achieved. According to her Women Empowerment refers to strengthening the social, economic and educational powers of women. It refers to an environment where there is no gender bias and have equal rights in community, society and workplaces.The empowerment of women would result in overall development of society both at micro and macro level.

In 2015, Poornima started ASMI Educational Trust. The Trust focuses on areas of health, education and infrastructure, especially in rural areas of Karnataka. ASMI Team Strongly Believes that Educating girl child is educating a whole family.

Poornima dislikes the “philanthropy”, believing that it often provided temporary fixes rather than changing underlying conditions. She prefers the term “compassionate capitalist”, believing that properly applied business models can provide an ongoing foundation for sustainable social progress. “Innovation and commerce are as powerful tools for creating social progress as they are for driving technological advancement. When they are put to use for social progress, and a lot more people benefit and the effects are more lasting.
