There was a PTM before the start of the academic year in which the school management clarified what they would be covering in the upcoming year and what is expected out of the parents. They stressed the importance of giving the right food to kids, encouraging independence, reducing screen time, avoiding spoon-feeding, and correcting their writing posture, among other things. Even though we parents know these things through social media, when it is stressed by the teachers who takes responsibility for our children's well-being, we take it more seriously.
Some positive changes I have observed in my daughter that I would like to highlight are:
- She can identify healthy food versus junk food and follows the habit of eating healthy food while reducing her consumption of junk food.
- She has learned about good touch and bad touch.
- She knows how to take care of herself in small ways, such as brushing her teeth, dressing herself, and using the potty.
- As soon as she comes home after school, she puts her bag in the proper place and refreshes herself by washing her hands and face.
- She has started eating on her own.
- Her overall social skills have improved.
- She can write A to Z and 1 to 20.
- Every time she sees a traffic light, she says "stop" when it is red.
As we have a second child, honestly, we couldn't spend much time with our first daughter to teach her all these things. She learned them all from school, and we are quite happy about that.
I will be enrolling my second child at Giggles as well.
